Success Story

Godibari is a village situated at Khordha district 30km away from Bhubaneswar Godibari is a village situated at Khordha district 30km away from Bhubaneswar. The people of Godibari are mostly Adivasi and are uneducated, superstitious and addicted to local liquor called Handia. Because of unhygienic conditions they are always suffering from various diseases. The Primary Health Center is 8kms away from the village

Sahara for All went to this village with 2 doctors and other medical staff. We visited every home and spoke to the families about personal hygiene. The next day we treated 120 people and distributed medicines. Among them, 80 patients were malnourished children. Acute fever, cold, diarrhea, amoebiosis, worm infection, are the common problem of the patients. On the 3rd day we treated another 100 people

The villagers got relief from their acute health problems. They are very thankful for this. We believe, in subsequent visits we would be able to counsel them about their dependence on alcohol, talk about the importance of a balanced diet and personal hygiene
