Success Story

Water harvesting in drought prone areas Boiinpalli Mandal in Karimnagar dis trict is a drought prone area. There is scanty rainfall and the ground water has fluoride content which is affecting people in the area. Due to lack of education and awareness, people are unable to harvest rain water. The ground level water is decreasing as well

Sahara has constructed rain water harvesting and recharge pit demo units. During rainy season these units helped people understand the importance of saving rain water. These models have been constructed at Anganwadi centers, school buildings and Panchayat offices.

People have gained awarness. Wherever we have constructed these units, the water levels in open wells and bore wells increased. During the rainy season, purified water was used for drinking and other purposes. By seeing these units people have constructed recharge pits and rain water harvesting units by themselves.
