Even where they maybe economically gainfully employed, they are paid lower wages than the men. They are less aware, more illiterate and absolutely prone to abuse.

GENVP intervened by making use of its own resources in the area. Women were organized into groups, and the process of social transformation begun, by giving women inputs in basic education, inculcating the habit of saving, creating awareness about their rights and legal issues.

A notable change in womens status is clearly visible. They are now organised and several groups have been formed. They have started saving and depositing that money with their group leaders and utilising these funds when needed.
