Success Story

Tarannum is 13 years old and studying in Grade 8. Tarannum is 13 years old and studying in Grade 8. She wanted to go to school. She belongs to a muslim family. Her father works as a casual labourer in a factory and her mother is a housewife. With their paltry income they support 6 children.

She was a budding sportswoman and was encouraged by Literacy India to join Vidyapeeth and also provided extra coaching besides regular studies.

She has done exceedingly well in judo. She secured a gold medal at the state level and qualified for the nationals. She has now qualified as one in the Haryana State Sports Talent Hunt and is entitled to a monthly stipend of Rs. 2500/- PM alongside free training provided by the Sports Department.
