Success Story

V.Nagamani, aged 34 yrs was deserted by her husband V.Nagamani, aged 34 yrs was deserted by her husband living in urban slums of Kurnool city. She has no parents. She has one brother but he never cares for her. She used to live at the courtesy of her brother. She is leading terrible life with harassment from her sister-in-law. She has no proper food and clothes. She desires to live separately with dignity. So, she needed support for her livelihood

While implementing our programs in urban slums of Kurnool city we observed the conditions of V.Nagamani and we planned for her rehabilitation. We provided training in tailoring & embroidery for a period of six months with the kind support under community polytechnic scheme. She joined the course during May 08 and completed the course by October 2008

After our intervention, she developed her skills in tailoring & embroidery. She got a sewing machine through a local philanthropist T.G.Venkatesh. She used to stitch clothes like blouses, petty coats, baby dresses etc., Now she is able to earn around Rs.100/- per day and live with dignity
