Success Story

Barawa is a mixed caste village. Barawa is a mixed caste village. The inhabitants of this village are dependent upon agriculture, wage labour and animal husbandry, for their livelihood sustenance. Women would be forced to leave their young children unattended while they went to work in the neighbouring mines.

The villagers realized that it was important to find some way to take care of these children who were in their formative years. They requested Seva Mandir to start a Balwadi in their village too. Keeping in view the demand of the village community, Seva Mandir started a Balwadi in this village. The villagers provided a room where this Balwadi could be started.

Every morning, after their mothers leave for work, the children come to the Balwadito a day of education, play and nutritious food. Seva Mandir health workers and doctors visit this Balwadi regularly for conducting health checkups for children. Today 9 boys and 11 girls of this village are benefiting from this centre.
