Uma Maheswari, 38 years, widow living in Kancheepuram District is infected with HIV, who also lost her husband in 2007 because of HIV. She is blessed with 1 son and 1 daughter, Ram Kumar-10 years and Poovizhi-8 years. Since her status is known, she had been facing many problems to lead her day-to-day life. It also reflected in the studies of her children. The monthly income of Rs. 4000, which she earns was spent on her medicines, due to which she could not pay the school fees for her children. She was about to stop the education of her children.

She approached Genesis Welfare Trust seeking educational support for her children. Genesis Welfare Trust after verifying the details provided by her extended the support.

After the fees were paid, GWT made a verification visit and found that Ram was happily going to RKN Matriculation school. He completed his grade 4 successfully.
