Success Story

Sornamalliga is a poor girl residing in a small village in Melur Block in Madurai District of Tamil Nadu. Sornamalliga is a poor girl residing in a small village in Melur Block in Madurai District of Tamil Nadu. Her parents are ignorant about the value of educating their child. The illiterate parents are struggling to earn for their living. The child is underfed and her poor health hinders her learning process. Unhygienic surroundings aggravate her sickness. The family lack adequate intake of nutritional food.

CCI We Care Trust visited her family and observed its appalling condition and spoke about the importance of educating their child and the need to uphold the child’s health and hygiene. We arranged a health check up and started an evening coaching centre in the village itself. We provided school gear (Note books, writing materials, now a dress) and nutritional education for the girl. We arranged an awareness program instilling importance of educating parents of healthy surrounding.

The family of Sornamalliga now encourages her to go to school and the evening coaching centre. The provision of school gears relieved the burden on the family. The health of the child has improved. Learning is made a joyous activity. Periodic awareness programs have taught the community to keep their surroundings clean which has ultimately enhanced her confidence and self esteem.
