Success Story

Lalitha was considered a burden by her parents. .

Lalitha was considered a burden by her parents. She is 29 year old with mild mental retardation. She attended AMC’s special school where she learnt social skills, reading and writing, recognition of objects etc.

At AMC Vocational Training Centre she was taught useful things in needlecraft. She developed interest and concentration. She has now friends. Instructor was praising her work and shows affection and love. Lalitha was given vocational training in tailoring section. She learnt operating machine, cutting and made frocks. Then she was trained in operating Xerox machine. Now she is learning computer.
Lalitha enjoyed being in vocational training centre. She and her family were happy when she took her stipend money home. She wants to buy bangles for her mother and some for herself. She wants to save some money. She is now operating Xerox machine independently. Once she learns computer operation she will be shifted to shelter workshop.
