Success Story

Anand was treated at NIMHANS. Anand was treated at NIMHANS. Later his parents put him in a special School Divya Shanti at 6 years of age. He had behavioral problems, hyperactive but was able to perform simple activities like writing alphabets, name and recognize numbers. He was a restless boy unable to focus on anything even for a very brief period. He was a constant worry for his parents.

He was identified by our Social Workers and was referred to pre-vocational training for Mentally Challenged at APD in January 2008. He was taught ADLs (Activity Daily Living Skills), social skills (Behaviour, interaction with people,), independent travelling skills etc. Further he underwent horticulture training at APD Horticulture Training Centre.

He is able to manage himself independently and he is now doing gardening at our Horticultural Centre
