Success Story

Balkutir is a home for parentless and abandoned children started in the year 1990. Balkutir is a home for parentless and abandoned children started in the year 1990. This has a strength of 37 children. Tanya was brought to Balkutir in 2008. She was extremly weak not even able to st.and on her own due to under nourishement.

Tanya was given proper nourishment and taken to hospital for treatment. She started showing improvement in health and became cheerful. Later she was admitted to our own school and put in nursery class. She is around four yeas of age now. The children in Balkutir are given milk and biscuits immediately after waking up. They have breakfast (Chapatti and vegetables) before leaving for school at 7.30 in the morning and carry the same stuff in Tiffin boxes for school at 11.30 am. They have lunch after coming back from school around 3 pm which consists of rice, Dhal, vegetables and curd. Evening at 6 pm they are given some fruits or light snacks after prayer. They have dinner after 7.30 pm consisting rice, lentils and vegetables. Non veg. food is served occasionally.

Tanya continues to be chearful and attends the nursary class regularly. The importance of meal cannot be over emphasized as the growing children need balanced diet for their proper mental and physical growth which will enable them to concentrate on their studies and do well in their exams.
