Success Story

Deivanai lives with her younger brother and mother. Deivanai lives with her younger brother and mother. Her father passed away and so the family lives on the frugal income that the mother earns by working as house maid and cleaning marriage halls. Her mother does not have regular work and struggles to make both ends meet. In this situation there is every possibility of Deivanai dropping out of school and so intervention was needed.

Hariksha Peoples Welfare Trust met her mother, explained and made her aware of the importance of education. We support her by providing the school fees, school uniforms, chappals, tuition fees, and provide medical attention as Deivanai suffers from Tuberculosis. We also helped her to identify her extra talents and helped to develop it.

After the counseling session and the support of educational resources the girl is continuing her studies in Grade 7 in the Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Tiruvannamalai. Our organization is continuously supporting Deivanai in her education and health needs since the last 3 years. Her mother also has now realized the importance of educating her daughter.
