Success Story

Raghav was the first child who was diagnosed with autism

Raghav was the first child who was diagnosed with autism by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences. However, when the parents came to us, they had no idea on how to reach out to their child who was withdrawn and unresponsive.

We got him assessed in 2008 and found out that he had severe sensory dysfunction along with autism, making it hard for him to be comfortable in his own skin. After that we put him in a intense sensory integration and occupational therapy program for 3 hours called a sensory DIET, which is given in a regular manner. However, parents are also taught and his mother, who was part of our family empowerment program (coming from a very low income family) and has been trained to work with special needs children and is our staff, also does therapies at the centre, on him, during his free hours.
Raghav now responds in class, takes part in all activities, and is a happy child. He is able to use some words, though very softly.
