Success Story

Pashiben is aged 67, lives in village Chekhala of Ahmedabad. Pashiben is aged 67, lives in village Chekhala of Ahmedabad. She has paralytic husband of 70,has diminished vision, watering and sticky eyes preventing her to do any work. Has one son who works in the nearby town as unskilled labor. She was working as farm labor for family support. Her family has no financial resources to go to nearby town and get her eye tested. She is illiterate too.

Pashiben attended Ophthalmic-medical-Diabetes camp arranged by Sanjivani-where she got expert advise of Ophthalmic Surgeon, who diagnosed her to have bilateral mature cataract with purulent conjunctivitis. Necessary pre op. tests for blood pressure, diabetes were done on spot. Pre op medications were given and arrangement was made for pickup and operation with IOL at Lions Aangnaj Eye Hospital. Her husband also was checked for paralysis, was found to be hypertensive and Diabetic who also was started on regular medicines, and were advised to attend fortnightly Sanjivani Daily camp for further supply of medicines.

Pashiben along with other 7 patients was operated for cataract in left eye first and after a month on right side with IOL making her see world clearly, her husband now gets regular supply of medicines, which otherwise he would not have afforded. The joy of life for both has returned.
