Success Story

Firdaus, 20yrs of age, became pregnant very soon after her marriage Firdaus, 20yrs of age, became pregnant very soon after her marriage and she had no one at home to guide her. An attentive health worker of her area organised a special meeting on Antenatal care (ANC) in the locality. Firdaus attended the meeting and got answers to a number of her queries.She also realised that she had to get regular ANC checups done and had to take care of her nutrition . She also got the information that she was becoming mother for the first time & that too at a younger age(ideally awomen should not become mother before 21 yrs of age), thus she had to be extara careful and must go in for institutional delivery.

After a meeting at CSI about the importance of regular checkups and for safe delivery Firdaus started coming to CSI special ANC clinic every month. She was given TT vaccines and complete dosage of iron & folic acid. During her pregnancy, she developed high blood pressure, and was asked to restrict her salt intake and take bed rest. She also got herself registered for safe delivery at the nearby government hospital.

Having taken all the necessary precautions and heeded sound medical advice, Firdaus had a perfectly normal delivery. She gave birth to a baby boy who was a happy and a healthy baby. Firdaus brought the child for immunisation to the CSI OPD.
