Success Story

Tirumalasetti Nancharamma, aged 75, resident of pallepalem lives alone in a small hut in the village. Tirumalasetti Nancharamma, aged 75, resident of pallepalem lives alone in a small hut in the village. She is a mother of two daughters; two of them are giving up marriage. She cleans utensils and washes clothes in nearby houses and gets leftover food to eat. Apart from that, she gets Rs.200 as pension from government out of that she spends Rs40 for her auto travel to get the pension for panchayath office. At this age, she has health problems, but has nobody to look after her.

Asha Kiran provided her food items 15kilo rice, 1kilo cooking oil, 1 kilo provisions, 1 sari, 1 blanket and mosquito net to Tirumalasetti Nancharamma from our local funds. Asha Kiran has identified 200 grannies that are suffering like this in 20 coastal villages.

With support from Asha Kiran, now Tirumalasetti Nancharamma is able to get food twice a day, and has clothes. She is happy and living a peaceful and secured life for few months. These old ladies are happy and their hopes to live have been increased. We conduct monthly meetings with them and organize free medical and cultural programs.
