Success Story

Jansi Rani is a one month old baby who was suffering from breathing difficulty, infection in the blood and kidney failure and needed ventilator support. Jansi Rani is a one month old baby who was suffering from breathing difficulty, infection in the blood and kidney failure and needed ventilator support. She was referred to Ekam Foundation by the Chengulpet GH Doctors, as ventilator support was not available there.

She was shifted to Kanchi Kamakoti Child Trust Hospital on 27/07/2010, with incubation & ventilator facilities & received IV fluids. The baby had to be in hospital for more than a month. The estimated hospitalization cost was around Rs 300000. Father Mr.Thirnavukarasu is working as an assistant in a Small college in the village and he earns Rs.3, 500 per month. He is the only earning member of the family. As the parents could not afford the treatment expenses the responsibility for payment of the balance bills was taken up by us (credit was extended by the hospital) and the treatment continued. We enlisted help from other trusts and organizations.

The baby got over the initial phase of critical problems and was discharged 7/09/2010. The hospital bill was Rs. 1, 21,585 (50% of Rs.2, 43,170). Shirdi Sai Trust supported with Rs.25, 000 .The remaining of Rs.96, 585 was raised by Ekam.
