Success Story

The Panchayat Middle School at Pulikurichi Village in Tiruchuli Block did not have the protected drinking water facility to the children. The Panchayat Middle School at Pulikurichi Village in Tiruchuli Block did not have the protected drinking water facility to the children. The children used to bring water in bottles, which was not sufficient to meet out the requirement for the day. They just filled any water available from the nearby surroundings and frequently the children were affected by diarrhea, dysentery and other infections. The Panchayat does not have adequate funds to install an overhead tank for the school. Hence this had been a never-ending problem in the school.

The teachers and the community leaders approached SEEDS and requested us to provide an overhead tank by installing a Sintex Drum in the school. SEEDS got a donation from an individual Philanthropist from the Corporate Sector and we constructed the platform for the tank and installed a 1000 litres capacity Sintex Drum to cater to the needs of the children studying in the Panchayat Middle School.

168 children and 7 teachers in the school are provided not only with protected water supply for drinking purpose but they are also protected from falling frequent diseases such as diarrhea, dysentery and all other water borne diseases. The teachers, school children and community and Panchayat leaders appreciated the efforts of SEEDS and thanked the staff, and members and the donor of SEEDS who has been the cause for this intervention.
