Success Story

Mohammed Faisal is a differently abled child, aged 4 years 8 months, with Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD), Autism, Epilepsy and Speech impairment. Mohammed Faisal is a differently abled child, aged 4 years 8 months, with Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD), Autism, Epilepsy and Speech impairment. His mother is a housewife while father is an employee in a commercial shop with a meagre income. He is the only child born after 20 years of marriage. They wanted him to attend an institution for his rehabilitation but could not pay for his transport expenses. For this reason Md. Faisal was kept at home without any chance for developmental improvement.

We met Faisal during a survey for disabled persons and were moved by his parents anxiety for his rehabilitation. We felt his condition could improve with proper therapy. We encouraged his mother to accompany him to our Centre and arranged to pick them up in our van every day and drop them back at their home. They attend our Centre 5 days (occassionally 6 days during training for a particular program) and undergo therapy, training and special education every day.

Faisal has made significant improvement in the last three months. He has been attending this Centre regularly because of the transport facility provided to him. He is now able to balance himself and take a few steps without support. Due to various therapies he received on a daily basis his physical and mental conditions have improved. He has benefited from the self help skills he is being taught here. Now, his father is able to concentrate on his work while his mother trains with him in the Centre. Faisal & parents are very happy to continue their association with Balajothi.
