Janakamma is one of active self help group members of Deepa mahila sangha of NGO partner GRAMA. Janakamma is one of active self help group members of Deepa mahila sangha of NGO partner GRAMA.. She is married and has three children. She studed up to 8th Std and struggled to find employment to provide basic needs to her family. She was interested in selling masala and sambar powder on retail basis but had no capital.

GRAMA, an NGO based in Chitradurga district requested Vishwas trust to conduct a three days Entrepreneurship (AEW) training. The training helped Janakamma to acquire Entrepreneurship and business skills and undertake selling of sambar and masala powder.. Vishwas trust, in consultation with GRAMA assisted Janakamma to access bank linkages. She was able to secure seed capital of RS 15000 and started her business. Seed capital was directly given to Janakamma directly but not to her SHG.. But her SHG stood as gurantor as collective responsibility

Janakamma is empowered and successful woman entrepreneur. She is able to earn nominal income/profit. She is able to take care of her self and children. Her familys basic needs are also fulfilled. Now she can able to provide good education for the children to become good citizns of tomorrow. Her family income has been improved.
