An average day for Sarojama An average day for Sarojama begins at 4 a.m.Her daily chores are followed by a 45-minute drive to the fish market o buy fish - her only source of income. Sitting on the roadside in has meant that the 57-year-old widow is constantly exposed to the sun and dust. Off late, her eyes have been a cause of concern; she is unable to see far off things.

Sarojama was one among the many who came to the Sankara Nethralaya-CPCL (Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited) teleophthalmology camp, held at Manali last year in the hope of finding a solution to her eye care woes. She was diagnosed as having immature cataract and was prescribed glasses

With the help of the glasses, her vision has improved significantly. She is able to perform her daily chores with ease.
